Your first visit. What to expect.
1. BOOK YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
Using our online booking system here, or calling the office at (720) 509-9379, you may book your complimentary virtual consultation or, if you are ready, your New Patient Experience. Once you book your initial appointment, you will be emailed paperwork to fill out. To make the best use of your time at the office, please complete it prior to your appointment.
You will be greeted by our greeter puppies Mabel and Layla, and amazing Office Manager Julie, and given a tour of the office. Next, Dr. Shantai will go over a complete history with you and listen to your concerns and goals related to your health.
At this point we will run a series of checks to get a complete picture of how your neuromusculoskeletal system is functioning and how you are adapting to life stressors. These tests are painless, safe and non-invasive (even for mamas and babies) and include a surface electromyography scan, thermography scan, as well as your range of motion, palpation of motion in your spine, orthopedic tests and reflexes. We will take your blood pressure, heart rate and heart rate variability to get a glimpse of your cardiovascular health.
Once we finish the exam, Dr. Shantai will determine if your case warrants imaging such as X-ray, MRI or Ultrasound, or other referrals. If not, you will be able to get adjusted on your first visit. Dr. Shantai will walk you through it step by step and make sure you are comfortable and relaxed.
5. REVIEW OF FINDINGS
Finally, you will be scheduled for a Report of Findings, where Dr. Shantai will go over your scans and explain what was found in your examination. She will have a customized treatment plan suited for you and your goals.
Your first visit will take approximately 45 minutes in total, and your second visit with the Review of Findings will take approximately 30 minutes. Plan to be in the office for 15 minutes for follow up visits.
We are kid friendly!
If you have your children with you for your appointment, not to worry. They are more than welcome to play in our Elite Club kids teepee, read one of our chiropractic story books and play with the puppies, under our office manager's supervision. This allows us to ensure you can have a relaxing adjustment and your questions can be answered while they are occupied.
Do you accept health insurance?
Dr. Shantai Watson is a NON-PARTICIPATING MEDICARE PROVIDER. This means you will pay for your new patient exam and adjustment at the time of service. We will determine whether your complaint would be reimbursable by Medicare, and if so, we will send in your Medicare claim. You will then be reimbursed directly by Medicare.
Dr. Shantai is an out-of-network provider with all other insurance companies. With out-of-network insurance, there is usually a separate deductible that must be met and collected before the insurance company will pay for services. After that, your insurance company will cover a percentage of your care and you will be responsible for the rest.
As an out-of-network provider, Dr. Shantai is better able to provide the care YOU need, not as dictated by the insurance provider. It also means she can provide services and modalities you wouldn't otherwise receive, and spend more time with you during your appointments.
